Tuesday I returned from Washington D.C. My visit to the capital was a side trip after a week in Hilton Head, although I enjoyed this "side trip" much more. Being in the capital of the United States of America, the most powerful country in the world, is truly surreal. Though I was hardly there a whole 2 days, my reverence for this nation grew larger, and I learned much. One day I will reside in a public office there...saving America as we know it. Sitting idly while our country falls apart is not an option...
Yesterday was the 4th of July. I know you hear this constantly, but our independence day means so much more than fireworks. INDEPENDENCE. Root word: "independent". We, the United States of America, are an independent nation. We are not the U.N., we are not part of some global environmentalist effort...we are the U.S.A.! And on July 4th, 1776, many grieved the loss of husbands, sons, fathers...even many civilian women and children had no doubt become casualties of war. I can't imagine how proud they were of those who fought for their freedom. That kind of pride in one's loved ones can only begin to be comprehended by those in similar situations in these modern times...such as the firefighters' families of 9/11. These families will always know that their loved ones selflessly conquered their own human nature by going up into a burning, ready-to-collapse 110 story skyscraper, knowing they may perish. And in 1776, little did the inhabitants of these scattered 13 original colonies know that the modest land their families and friends died for, would in time become the most prosperous free society to ever call Earth it's home. And no liberals, that's not arguable.
Now, in times like these, people try to tell me, "Put aside politics, we're all just citizens of America in the end.". Well quite frankly no we're not. (Unless that immigration bill slipped by while I was sleeping.) And those liberals who condemn this country, are condemning all who have ever fought for it. Keep your Godless ideals out of this sacred land Pelosi! BOTTOM LINE: By fighting liberalism, I am honoring those millions who have died for this country. So there's not a chance in you know where that "putting politics aside" is going to happen.
